Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This - Sleek Distorted Dreams Holographic Highlighting Palette

Make-up is one of my big loves, and recently I couldn't resist picking up the Sleek Distorted Dreams palette which is the stuff of holographic dreams. People, myself included often band around the word "amazing" all too freely, but I literally waved my arm around catching the light for a good five minutes, just staring with heart eyes at the eye catching swatches. If you're looking for a subtle glow, look away - this palette is here to fulfil all of your mermaid, unicorn, ethereal otherworldly dreams.

I purchased the palette as part of a deal at Superdrug, which gave me a little giftbox  featuring a mini eyeshadow palette, full size lipstick and a full size liquid eyeliner. Now when it comes to even flicks, I'm a felt pen liner girl all the way. However the Dip It liner (which I couldn't currently find on the Superdrug website) really changed my mind. The nib was just the right side of hard without dragging, allowing me to draw a thin line in several stages, and really control the size of my flicks before I did my usual trick of turning into a panda!

But I know you're really here to find out more about the holographic dream that is the Distorted Dreams palette. Available for £10.99, it's the latest addition to Sleek's already legendary highlighter palettes. It contains five shades, three of which are cream and two being powder and reports suggest that on a sunny day, your cheekbones can be spotted by the ISS satellites.

Don't be scared by how the colours look in the palette - once blended in, you are left with a stunning, illuminated sheen. You can even layer the shades together (the powders over the creams really pack a punch), with a glittery, reflective pow as craftable as a softer reflective glow.

It's a really adaptable palette, with the creams in particular blending brilliantly over lipsticks and eyeshadows for some additional sparkle. If you've been eyeing up Kat Von D's Alchemist Holographic Palette but are not quite ready to make that investment, Sleek's Distorted Dreams palette isn't just a budget dupe, it's a wonderful contender in it's own right.

Whether you want the subtlety of dotting your cheeks and cupids bow, or want to brush all the colours all over your face for an ethereal glow, this palette floored me for how good it was. I can't stress enough that this isn't an advert or "gift" sent for review - I went out and bought the product myself and just fell utterly in love.

You can pick it up from here, and if you do please let me know how you get on with it!

Until next time,

  3. Thanks love - I've not used their foundations before, but have noticed that their milk bottle ones don't seem to have that orange tint so am keen to try them out next. :) x
