Staying Out For The Summer - SS16 from JD Williams and Lorraine Kelly for JD Williams

The JD Williams SS16 collection was a colourful ray of sunshine on a wet and stormy day. Filled with stunning pieces designed to walk us gently into the warmer weather, it's a transitional collection filled with 70s inspired dreams, and a capsule wardrobe of neutral shades mixed with bold, statement prints.

Aimed at an older crowd and with the stunning Yazemeenah Rossi fronting their mainline campaign, the collection saw lots of monochrome stripes, tailored separates and boho flair. Camel and olive shades mixed with white lace and layered textures to create a wardrobe designed to mix and match. The lookbook also showed off some exquisite evening wear, with the stunning red and white lace maxi a real stand out piece in a wonderful collection.

We were also able to preview the latest collection from Lorraine Kelly, who was lovely enough to talk through her collection with me. Like the mainline collection, it is filled with transitional pieces to take us through to spring and has a contemporary feel with clean lines and a stunning silhouette. It's made up of a mostly monochrome palette, with softer neutrals and greys contrasting against stripes and checks. The footwear is also incredible, with a focus on both style and comfort. The detail on some of the heels is stunning, with cute pumps and pretty workwear rounding out a really strong range.

Beachwear and pretty lingerie also featured at the press day, with the designs making you dream of Summer holidays.

Parts of the collection should start to drop in January, and I really can't wait! It's so difficult to pick out just one favourite, but I am pretty much in love with that polka dot dress from the Lorraine Kelly range. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Until next time,

Spring Fling - SS16 from Simply Be

On a mission to put the Winter chill to the back of our mind, the SS16 collection from Simply Be is filled with bold patterns, mixed textures and stunning, eye-catching prints. Designed to get you through a chilly Spring into warmer weather, it's filled with layer ready easy to wear separates as well as a whole range of bright and colourful accessories.

The 70s trend is very much going strong, with bright florals, burnt citrus and summery shades featuring heavily. Light duster coats, polo necks and sleeveless blazers offer up a more relaxed look, with neutral greys and muted pastels mixed with clean lines and pretty crochet and lace details. The statement bags on show were the perfect way to finish off an outfit, with colourful oversized details, and elements such as fringing and gemstones to sparkle. Shoes were a mixture of beach ready brights and tan chunky platform sandals, just begging for the sunshine and warmer weather to hurry up and get here.

Until next time,
