I love it when a simple dress is deceptively detailed, elevating it to an effortlessly chic style whilst being super easy to wear. This lovely Lost Ink Chiffon Insert Dress from Navabi* is a brilliant example of that. On the surface it's a quick to throw on LBD bordering on t-shirt dress comfort levels, but upon closer inspection it is SO much more.
I almost don't know where to start. With the top half made from a cosy stretch jersey, it's contrasted with the floaty chiffon layers of the skirt below. The dress has a circle skirt vibe making it perfect for spinning around in, and it transforms so easily depending on shoes, make-up and accessories.
With a round neckline and v-shaped back, the lined fabric hangs beautifully on the body. I love that you rock a red lip for some rockabilly cute, or chuck on a biker jacket for something a little bit tougher. And yet it remains smart enough to pair with a cardigan for work, even though it has the lightness and comfort level of well worn pyjamas. In short, this dress is the actual dream.
This dress was sent as a gift from Navabi, but please don't think that my words here are hollow because of that; I honestly can't remember the last time I felt so good in an outfit, and I think my smile in these photos really show that. It is a dress which fuses my vintage and goth loving style sensibilities perfectly, and I know I'm going to be wearing this until it literally disintegrates in my fingers!
