Gifted Experience: Christmas Crafts with Viking Direct #VikingChristmasCrafts

Last week, I got fully immersed into the Christmas spirit with Viking Direct as I settled in for an evening of festive food, bauble making and pinata building. Surrounded by the splendour of Shoreditch Treehouse and soundtracked with a festive playlist, I - the least crafty wannabe crafter who ever lived - got my double sided tape and marker pens ready, and went for it!

I know that I definitely wasn't safe to be left to my own devices, so was grateful for the guidance of the lovely Jane and Maddy from Tea & Crafting. Under their guidance, we set about making the first of our two Christmas items for the evening - a Christmas bauble!

This was definitely the easier of the two tasks - we started off by wiping down the plastic shell with some rubbing alcohol so that we could then design both sides of the decoration. Next we shredded a variety of coloured printer paper using the Viking paper shredders and got to stuffing the inside of the ball with as much paper as we could.

Mine was not the best or the prettiest by any stretch of the imagination, but as you can see from my face, I was weirdly proud of it! It'll definitely be going onto my tree when we put it up, even if it's somewhere towards the back where no one else can see it!

Our second task of the evening was to make a bauble shaped pinata ready to take home and fill with Christmas treats. We were given the frame to assemble with tape, and this was not as easy as it looked!

Once the frame was all taped up and I'd managed to cut out a flat where I can feed in treats at a later date, it was time to get to the fun bit - covering the outside in lots of shredded paper. We took the remains of the paper from the bauble making and with the help of strips of double sided tape, layered the paper on until we were left with something cute and fluffy looking.
