Rock Around The Clock - Sherry Rockabilly Diner Dress in Black from Dolly And Dotty

I'm a huge fan of vintage repro styles, and Dolly and Dotty have fast become one of my favourite retailers since discovering them a few years ago. I love their swing dresses in particular, with a huge variety of styles and colours available at prices which won't melt your credit card. In the past I've picked up a couple of their dresses, mostly in the Darlene style but could not resist how utterly adorable this Sherry Rockabilly Diner Dress is, and had to give it a try.

Because I have quite a large bust, I'm normally a bit scared by button up fronts on dresses as they tend to pull and gape and I have to either pin or sew my top half into it. However my previous experience with Dolly and Dotty is that their dresses have a lot of stretch and are generously sized, so I figured I'd take the plunge and give it a go. The dress was so adorable, I knew I'd just be wondering what might have been if I didn't.

I couldn't have been more thrilled when I tried it on, and it has instantly became one of my wardrobe favourites. The bustline just about fits, and the rose embroidery and red piping are just so adorable. It comes with the red belt, and the cute 1950s Americana style feels timeless rather than costume led. It fastens with a concealed zip, and just needs some bumper bangs and a milkshake date!

I also finally had something to team with my favourite Hell Bunny cardigan, which will give me a little more warmth as we step into the cooler weather.

Roses: From a selection made by Temptress of Waikiki
Shoes: George at Asda, no longer available but similar here

I'm so ready to throw a biker jacket on top, and spin into autumn!

Until next time,
