Daises x Moomins x Tatty Devine x Yours Clothing
When I originally shot these images, I had planned on making this more of an autumnal look since there is no way this dress is going to get much use during sunshine season. But I'm pulling a massive grumpy face in all of the photos where I'm wearing a jacket (probably because I was too warm!), so now we have some photos where I'm wearing a summer dress with tights and boots. Please imagine this look shot with with a fringed biker jacket on top, and me looking excited to drink some mulled spice apple juice!
There's no denying that I absolutely adore the print on this Yours Clothing dress. It made me feel warmly nostalgic for my favourite 90s styles, all soft and grungy and perfect with a giant pair of clunky boots. I've always had a thing for daisies, even when I was a child. I found daisy chains too fiddly to make (I could never seem to thread them through each other - it probably explains why I am so terrible at knitting!), but I always preferred the sunny disposition of the most smiley of weeds to the extravagance of real "grown up" flowers.
The Moomin necklace definitely finishes this look off for me. It's probably the happiest piece of jewellery that I have ever owned, and whilst it isn't the cheapest, it was definitely an investment piece as I will wear it until it disintegrates. The simple colour palette also means that it'll go with most other things in my wardrobe, neckline depending. Also, you know... who doesn't want a Moomin with them at all times?
As for the dress, it's a really comfy, easy, throw on number. It's got mock buttons to the front which is great if like me, you love the idea of buttons but have a bust size which disagrees. It has a shitted back panel for added stretch too, making it easy to throw over a thin roll neck or long sleeve tee in the cooler weather. The bottom half has a skater style shape, with the light woven fabric draping easily.
