Lipstick on Your Collar - Lipstick & Lipgloss from MYJ Beauty

A good lipstick discovery is like unearthing some sort of treasure haul. and as someone who regularly goes into Boots for one thing only to leave much later covered in make-up swatches, I really do enjoy finding new favourites. I was very excited when I discovered London based brand MYJ Beauty via their Instagram page, and even more so when a package arrived at my door with a selection of goodies for me to road test!

Make Me Up Before You Go Go - Make Up Bag Favourite from Lord & Berry

I've been a huge fan of cosmetics brand Lord & Berry ever since I first discovered their amazing matte lip crayons in a Glossybox delivery. Packed full of pigment, the high colour pay off stayed putt all day and became a firm favourite in my make-up bag.

I almost hugged the postman when he delivered a series of samples for me to test out, and could barely wait to tear into the envelope! Inside was a selection of lipsticks, crayons, a liner and an eyeliner pen and after snapping them in my studio, it was time to attack them with my face, but not before swatching!

That's Amore - Italian Inspired 70s Prints from H&M

As I'm sure I've previously mentioned, I've really been loving all the 70s vibes currently adorning the current Autumn / Winter ranges. When I saw this patterned jersey dress from H&M, my heart skipped a beat and that was the start of me digging out my Autumnal make-up palette of golds, purples and general cosmetic drama!

With the change in weather, I've found my skin has dried out a little so I've ditched the setting powder and gone for a much dewier finish to the skin. It's been quite nice as I've found it offsets the more heavier colours and has somehow worked in well with my seasonal clothing shift.

I will never cease to be amazed by the cosmetic alchemy contained in a #makeup bag. I am not a make-up artist by any stretch of the imagination, but I love having fun and experimenting with it. Autumn trends are always my favourite, with lots of purples and golds, and a dose of strong, black liner. The dress reminded me of classic 70s Italian vintage, mostly to do with the print. I really like that it has a high neck too, with just a biker jacket thrown on top, I was super cosy when walking over Hampstead Heath to meet with some friends.

As the pattern is so busy, I kept the accessories simple with just some black tights, my trusty black boots and an old season gold perspex leaf from Tatty Devine. Whilst it's pretty different from my usual look, I really loved it. I'm definitely all about embracing my inner 70s film star this season!

Bat For Lashes - Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline

It's been a while since I've done a beauty post, but I wanted to write about an amazing high street find I've recently fallen in love with. I feel like I've spent ages hunting down a non-clumping, lash lengthening magician of a product, and Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline does just that.

The mascara comes with a wand designed to catch every single lash, even the tiniest of them. It takes a little bit of getting used to as it's easy to catch the side of your eyes with the outer-bristle design. However once you've got the hang of the wand wiggle, you're left with flutter-worthy peppers which are well defined and clump free.

The brush is actually really clever - it features short bristles packed closely together on a curve, and it ensures that the mascara meets the root of the lashes. The longer bristles comb it out to the tips, and it just takes a coat or two to achieve lashes with volume. The formula is buildable without clumping or flaking, and even on the most humid of days, doesn't leave you with the dreaded panda-eye smudge.

If you're looking for a full-on false last effect, simply use a fan brush to distribute some setting powder over them before applying the mascara on top. It helps to extend the lashes if you want a little more oomph.

Let It Glow - Feeling Younger highlighter from the Lush range of skin tints

I'm not scared of attacking my cheekbones with a contouring powder and dark blush, but highlighting is key to balance it out. Currently I use a very pale powder on the top side of my cheekbones, inner eyes, brow bone and cupid's bow dimple, so was intrigued to see what Lush's Feeling Younger could offer when I saw it on their shelf.

Billed as a "skin tint", Feeling Younger (£12) is a light reflecting miracle in a jar.Whether used over face cream, foundation or even setting powder, it gives the perfect dewy glint to make your skin glow.

Feeling Younger is designed to suit all skin colours, and even on my palest of the pale skin, the product managed to melt into a subtle, light-catching sheen. The jar looks tiny for the cost, but never fear -  you only need to use the smallest amount of product to get the desired effect

Made with soothing oats, skin loving cocoa butter butter and nourishing jojoba and almond oils, Feeling Younger sinks into your skin feeling both cool and hydrating. It's the perfect product to put over a tinted moisturiser or BB cream in the warmer weather where you want to switch matte finishes for a dewy radiance.

It's a really simply product to work with - I used my finger to dot Feeling Younger along the top of my cheekbones, underneath my brow and on top of my lip. You simply place it whether you want the light to catch.

To blend, you can use your fingers to tap it on but I preferred to apply a blending sponge to really pat it in properly. In these images, it has been put over both foundation and setting powder, and it blended in with no problem at all.

This is going to be my go to product for Spring and Summer, as it's so light on the skin and doesn't feel even remotely cakey. In addition to the face, it's also great to use on the décolletage and anywhere else you want to highlight. I've also found it really useful to blend out on the inner eye to help make me look more alert and awake. It's a tiny pot with a whole lot of uses!
