At the moment I am waiting for several late paying clients to throw some money my way, so whilst I'm living that "freelance dream", I keep finding myself window shopping to pass the time. One of my favourite sites to peruse at the moment is the House of Fraser website, particularity their dress section. They are a fantastic department store for stunning plus size finds, as their frequent sales mixed with high end brands suddenly make the more luxurious end of the plus size market that much more obtainable - even on a freelancer's wage!

Bags Of Style from House Of Fraser
More often than not, the perfect handbag can be the illusive holy grail of fashion. We want something which compliments our outfits, yet can also be filled to bursting with all of our daily essentials. From sunscreen to house keys to tablets, we often have different bags for different occasions - but just like shoes, a girl can never have too many handbags, right?
Sometimes you come across a campaign which really speaks to you, and when I saw that House of Fraser had teamed up with the 77 year old sartorial superstar Bridget Sojourner, my heart soared. Sojourner is the sort of woman who I want to be when I finally grow up. She is someone who rocks head-to-toe leopard print, is an active campaigner against ageism and wears charity shop chic like she's storming down a runway.
As part of Channel 4's "Fabulous Fashionistas" documentary, Sojourner turned heads and proved that fashion really is for all. Speaking with House of Fraser, she has hand picked her own Christmas gift wishlist for every aspiring vintage vixen, and you can read the whole article by clicking here.
She is utterly fabulous, and easily my favourite fashionista. If you want some Christmas wish list inspiration, Sojourner will definitely steer you in the right direction.

Scarlett & Jo have quickly become one of my favourite brands. Their vintage aesthetic is something which makes my heart tingle, so I was very happy to see them nestled amongst some amazing plus size brands at iconic department store, House of Fraser.
When HoF got in touch to see if I would be interested in reviewing an item from their plus size range, I absolutely jumped at the chance. They had a wonderful range of skater dresses available, and I found myself gravitating towards them as their shape always makes me feel a little 60s does 50s in terms of vintage style.

The dress really spoke for itself and didn't need much in the way of accessories. I teamed it with a red flower from Pearls & Swine, a cherry necklace which was a gift, jelly flats from eBay and an ace of hearts vintage handbag. In the cooler seasons, I'd definitely pair it with black tights and ankle boots but felt that the Spring and Summer months needed a lighter colour approach.
I was genuinely surprised by just how well stocked the House of Fraser plus size department was. With specific sections for everything from hosiery to jumpsuits to wide fitting boots, there was a huge selection of choice from so many of my favourite brands. Their famous blue cross sale is also now running across many departments, with bargains waiting to be snapped up with up to an incredible 70%. If you're on the look out for an outfit for a specific event, this would be a great time to have a peek and see what's on offer.
Until next time,
