Swooning over winter collections whilst sweating like a rung out t-shirt never ceases to feel any less surreal, but the AW preview season is very much upon us once again! Yesterday was the turn of George to show off their AW15 collection, and with an edit showing a varied range of tailored shapes, bold patters and a mixture of textures, it was certainly impressive. Laid back luxery, boho vibes and 60s shapes all made an appearance, but the star of the show had to be the price tags - if you're looking for high street chic on a shoe string budget, you'll definitely want to be reading on.
Split into three stories, the AW15 collection from George presents us with Wilderness, Citron Frost and Armour. Staring with Wilderness, it brings us abstract prints in Autumn tones with faux furs, suedes and tapestry fabrics all bundled together. Influenced by the boho vibe of the 70s, ditsy florals meet paisley with calculated fabric clashes resulting in eye-catching delights.
Words can not express how much I need these rose gold brogues in my life!
Next up we have Citron Frost, a formal inspired range for everyday wear with 60s tailoring and a monochromatic colour scheme.
My first thought was how expensive it looked, yet the wide collared dog tooth print coat pictured above comes in at just £35! It's the perfect edit to release your inner Joan at the office, with a-line skirts, elegant blouses and bright bursts of colours combined with bold check prints.
One of the things I loved about this collection, was just how transitional it is. The citrus floral prints and sparks of bright colours were perfect against the darker shades which AW traditionally offer. However I felt that each individual piece would feed into most seasonal trends, almost as if they were designed to be versatile, core wardrobe staples.
Lastly we were presented with Armour, an edit which will quickly have you clambering for the festive party season. Embracing the embellishment of the 1920s, these beaded visions will certainly have you dreaming of parties with Mr, Gatsby himself. Faux furs and flashes of metallics shimmer against the more androgynous tailoring of tux jackets and faux leather trousers ensuring a varied selection of styles for every fun filled occasion.
In addition to the three stories, there was a few pieces from the current collection on show, as well as a preview of some of the forthcoming underwear and pyjamas. As you can imagine with lounge wear for the cooler months, it was soft, tactile and oh-so-pretty!
It's so hard to choose what my favourite item was, as there was just so many lovely things. The gold brogues, biker jacket and pretty much ALL the dresses from Wilderness were certainly up there - now to just try to hang on until August, when the collection slowly starts to drop...
Until next time,

Me too! I think this is the first year that I've really embraced the 70s styles - normally I've stuck very much to 50s and 60s shapes but the call of the print and floppy hats has really got to me this time around. I want to grow up to be Joan from Mad Men! ;) x
