Happy new year lovely readers, and I hope that you've had a wonderful start to 2017! ❤ If you follow my Instagram you'll have seen that mine has kick off with a new photography project so please do get in touch if you can get to London and would like to be shot for it.
With the start of the year now behind us, I always find that my colour palette drastically changes. Where as the start of winter is all about the dark reds and blacks for me, the latter half tends to move towards more spring ready hues. Maybe it's wishful thinking? Maybe it's my eagerness to run around London wearing lots of yellow, just like a chubby bumble bee. That's why I'm so excited to start the new year off with one of two fun and bright Lindy Bop dresses which are perfect paired with cardigans as we transition between the seasons.
The Gilda London Traffic Jam Print Swing Dress from Lindy Bop is such a gorgeous dress, starting with a pretty cloud print which falls to a scene with London's iconic red buses and local landmarks. Made from a stretch cotton fabric, I would still advise sizing up by one for a more comfortable fit, especially if you have a fuller bust line.
The dress is a classic 50s style, with a swing dress bottom and a buttoned down top. It's finished with cap sleeves and a wide flare box pleat skirt, and even comes complete with two pockets. The dress is also fully lined, and whilst has the perfect volume of fabric to team with a petticoat, it's also heavy enough that it doesn't necessarily need one. Come the summer, this dress will be seeing a lot of action as it's a lovely run around dress, both pretty and comfortable. And until then, I'll mostly be teaming it with tights and cardigans to make it winter ready.
If you're a fan of the print but not so much the shirt button style, Lindy Bop have also brought out a few other items in a similar style which can be seen here.
Necklace: Tatty Devine Bus Necklace (£35)
Stockings: Pamela Mann Lace Top Hold Ups (£7.99)
It's also worth noting that Lindy Bop have extended their Boxing Day sale right through the week, with lots of new lines being added everyday.
Until next time,
this is such a cute dress! I've never tried any of their shirt dress styles because while I'm not exactly filling out the dresses with my boobs, I'm so broad I worry about them pulling across my chest still
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of their different shapes of dress fit differently, but as someone who has both big boobs and swimmers shoulders, I honest feel that you would be fine. :) They also do some really cute skirts if you are worried, but I think you'd be find sizing up by one in the dresses which is what I tend to do. x
DeleteWhat an adorable print! And I just love how you accessorised.
ReplyDeleteI'm always super late to the party when it comes to the Lindy Bop sales and find nothing left in my size. I must remember check the site more often.

Thanks Sam! :) I think they tend to have quite good sales fairly frequently, so are definitely worth keeping an eye on. x
