Nothing But Blue Skies - Clara Polka Dot Collar Dress from Joanie Clothing

I love a cute polka dot print and in this beautiful spring blue, the Clara Polka Dot Dress from Joanie Clothing is the perfect antidote for this awful, cold weather. I like a little snow flurry when we're in the festive period, but this current cold snap just seems a little unfair when being teased with blue skies and sunshine.

I also own the Clara in a velvety check print counterpart, and was so happy to find that its polka dot sister is made from a lighter, more jersey like fabric ready for some spring fling fun. Designed with a classic fit and flare shape with stretch fabric, a back zip and adorable peter pan collar, it's all sunshine and blue skies against the winter weather. It also has pockets, and anyone who's followed my blog for a while will know that I am a total sucker for pockets when it comes to usable pockets on dresses!

The soft blue colour is so easy to pair accessories with, flitting between cherry reds and muted tan shades with ease. I couldn't resist going down the red route so that I had a chance to dig out my heart shaped bag (which is one of my favourite sale bargains of all time!) I think I'm going to be all about the bright colours until the spring blooms and sunny skies are in full effect!

How do you cope with the cold, gloomy weather this time of year? Give me your best tips in the comments below.

Until next time,

  1. You look so darling in this dress! Blue suits you so well and I love the pops of red that you've put alongside the blue too! That bag is BEAUTIFUL!

  2. I stopped looked at Joanie when they stopped their sizing at a 22, what is the sizing like these days?

    1. I find them really generous - some of their dresses like the Clara would fit a 24 / small 26 in the size 22, and their tees are very soft and stretchy. As a rule of thumb, I find if the item has stretch you should size down by one.
