It's no secret that I have a love of penguins, and I literally squeaked with delight when I came upon this adorable Disaster Designs Penguin Lamp from quirky gift and homewear website Red Candy. With a wardrobe filled with penguin prints shamelessly worn all year round, penguins aren't just for Christmas in this household and we couldn't wait for our new house guest to arrive.
The penguin joined the dinosaur lamp who already lived in our sitting room and the two make a fierce double act in a book and boardgame laden space. He has an origami design with a sharp sense of design, and is both cheerful and eye catching in equal measure.
The lamp would be the perfect nightlight if you want him in a less obvious space, with a simply switch cable to turn on and off with ease. For us though, we are keen to have it very much on display and the lamp has become quite at home amongst the plants and boardgames.
