This week's round up of SS17 fashion is filled with stunning prints, fun metallics and accessories galore. Previews from Simply Be, JD Williams, New Look, River Island and House of Fraser all brought with them the promise of summer fun, and just for a day, I was able to stop obsessing over all things Christmas just long enough to fall in love the forthcoming sartorial season.
First up is N Brown super duo Simply Be and JD Williams, who also launched their plus size bridal line at the preview. Simply Be jumped from grungy romance to strong sports lux vibes, with an amazing star studded biker jacket and cute embroidery on show. JD Williams was more structured shapes and nautical vibes, with a pretty floral series coming from their Lorraine Kelly collection. The homewear range from JD Williams was also pretty cute, with more nautical nods in the form of seashorses and sesashells.
New Look was big on pretty grunge vibes mixed with metallics and embroidery, with their accessories game completely mind blowing. See through rain macs will be a huge hit for summer festivals, and it was reassuring to see that so many of their items had a tag saying that it'll also be available in the curve range.
River Island was also pretty fabulous for trend spotting and accessory swooning, and whilst none of their plus range was on show, you could get a real feel for what was in store. Prairie, power dressing and Prada all came to mind, with mixed prints and embroidered details all on show.
Our last visit was with House of Fraser who had their homewear on display as well as their ladieswear. SS17 seemed to be all print everything, and I found myself besotted with the Biba print scarves and vast array of handbags.
