When you look inside my wardrobe, it's pretty obvious that Halloween isn't just a holiday for me, it's a lifestyle! Of course there's lots of vintage and vintage repro items, but as I've got older, I seem to have reached back out to my teenage baby goth roots with lots of crushed velvet, black lace and peter pan collared dresses straight out of a Wednesday Adamms' style guide. And so it was the second I saw this Velour Tiered Dress being worn on the Simply Be #wearecurves catwalk, I knew I had to get my hands on it.
This dress really spoke to me when I saw it on the model. It was the kind of grown up glam goth / Victoriana vibes that I like to think I can pull off, and it looked luxurious whilst remaining at a reasonable price point. The fabric had a surprising amount of stretch to it, and I really enjoyed how the tiered shape moved as the model walked. I'm also a total sucker for fluted sleeves and ruffle collars, and knew it'd be such an easy item to style as we stepped into the cooler autumn weather.
Corset Belt: Extra Wide Lace Up Corset Belt from ASOS Curve (£15)
I styled the dress with a simple, wide corset belt from ASOS Curve which completely changed the feel of it. I quite liked it for something a bit tougher, but for day to day the dress as it comes is such a solid, easy to wear item.
What's been your favourite autumn find so far? Don't forget to tell me in the comments!
Until next time,

I love this on you! The belt makes it look a bit steam punk or victorian almost, in a bad ass sort of way. I swear your wardrobe gives me such envy!
