Blue Is The Colour

I know, I know, it's an actual real life blog post! It's been a little quiet over here for the last week, but I've spent the last seven days back to back shooting so am slowly catching up on admin, sleep and organising a huge backlog of content! As ever you can find all the behind the scenes gossip on my Instagram, so if you're not already following me, feel free to tap the button!

On the blog today is something which I picked up from JD Williams a few weeks ago, and have just been waiting for the warmer weather to come back again so I could wear it. This navy coloured spot covered shirt dress (£29) is the holy grail of buttoned up dresses for anyone with a larger bust as the slightly stretchy fabric has both give and a generous cut on top.

The dress is a kitschtastic take on the utility trend, with the polka dots giving a 40s aesthetic to the tea dress shape. Made from a light, floaty material, it's perfect to flit away lazy summer days in, but also one which have leggings and oversized knits added to it to wear through the cooler months too.

On this occasion I teamed it with some simple sole diva ballet flats (£10) from Simply Be, and a cute red London bus necklace (£35) from Tatty Devine. Now all I need is some sunshine and a picnic to go to!

Until next time,

A Match(stick) Made In Heaven - Cute Prints From Modcloth

Gosh, it was so long ago that I took these photos, I can't believe they're only now just going up on the blog! Even my hair is a different colour! This beautiful dress from online American retailer Modcloth was a surprise Christmas present from my wonderful friend, Chattermonkey. We both share a love of all things mustard-yellow, so I pretty much squeaked with happiness when tearing off the paper come Christmas day.

The dress is one of those easy to wear numbers - cute, comfy and easy to co-ordinate, the holy trinity of all fashion purchases. Print aside, I absolutely love that it has pockets. I will never understand why more items of clothing don't come with places to store stuff, so was utterly thrilled to find somewhere to keep my hands, my SD cards and occasionally, a packet of Jelly Belly jelly beans. I'm not even joking...

Because I love dinosaurs as much as I love mustard hues, I teamed the dress with a Tea-Rex necklace from Cherryloco Jewellery via Etsy. I'd brought this months ago as a birthday present to myself, and need to wear it more frequently for sure. It combines my adoration of both tea and dinosaurs so perfectly, and has proven to be a real conversation starter.

Seeing these photos have made me really miss the dark pink hair. At the moment, the ends are more of a bubblegum pastel pink, and I was contemplating going a much darker purple next, But this has made me reconsider. I'm so indecisive with my hair which is why I love using semi-permanent shades which fade out with ease, and have no idea where to go next. Currently I have a stock of blues, greens and purples, but maybe I'll plump for pink just one more time... Who knows, with hair colour maths a real thing when mixing current shades with new shades, it could end up as anything!

Until next time,

You think I would have learnt by now to stop looking up things I love. I need a dinosaur / kitten / robot / teacup / Bowie blocker on every auction site and independent retailer for my own good. My smoking credit card and creaking jewellery storage both hate me, yet I couldn't resist the charms of this delightful camera necklace from Ladybird Loves.

Can we just take a second too appreciate the super cute packaging?
 .

I needed this necklace like I needed paper shoes, but it was brought as a result of a late night editing session. When your eyes have been staring at variants of the same thing for hours upon end, the danger is to break things up with a little online window shopping. A dangerous folly indeed as armed with a cup of tea and a Paypal account, I found myself throwing all my favourite things into the search box of my new found obsession, Not On The High Street. There were so many gorgeous creations dancing before my almost delirious, tired editing eyes, but it was the Ladybird Likes camera necklace which actually made me swoon.

Now that it's arrived, it's already been worn several times so I'm happy that it was an impulse buy which paid off. The range are all wood based and laser cut, and aside from cameras, it contains all manner of robots, pin-ups and other pieces of super cuteness.

You can view the whole range here and fall in love just like I did!

Until next time,

Diana xx
