Feeling Blue with Joanie Clothing, Simply Be, ASOS Curve and Tatty Devine

Since my friend Kat cut in my fringe about a month or so ago, I've felt so much more like myself again, and have definitely embraced the inner rock and roller who I always wanted to be! This is the first outfit post I've managed to scrape together in FOREVER, partly because I've been slowly rediscovering what my style is again, and partly because I've been buried with shoots and edits. I've got an exhibition opening at the end of May which I'm really excited about, but that along with freelance work is sucking all of my time into a giant black hole. I'm not going to complain though - it's nice to have creative things on the go which are coming together, but I'm hopeful that my blogging schedule will be a bit more regular again soon. I've got a few bits shot and some more which I'm hoping to do this weekend, so if you're still with me and reading this, thank you for sticking around!

Polaroid, Kitty Cushions and Kitchen Kitsch - Say Hello To Cool Stuff

Hello lovely readers! For those of you who follow me on Instagram and Twitter, you might have seen that I've been really busy with freelance work for the last few months which is why my blog posts have been a little bit sparse and sporadic. I'm hoping to be back to the usual three posts a week come September, and have lots of content prepped to go if only I can find the time to edit the images and write the words to accompany them! But I wanted to write today about a Sweedish company who I recently worked called Cool Stuff, who surprise, surprise, sell lots of fun, kitsch, silly and useful gift items. They were kind enough to send me a few items which made my cat loving photo nerd heart very happy, and between the fun kitty cushion and 70s style Polaroid bag, I'm pretty much in love!

This is a review which has been a long time coming, but as a full time photographer, I wanted to give this DIY SLR camera a proper test run. I'm not going to lie, as a total and utter camera nerd, I was so excited for this parcel to arrive. I knew it wasn't going to be easy to construct, but believed that being a photographer and having a scientist for a boyfriend meant we'd have a pretty good chance at swiftly working our way through it. Oh, how wrong I was! But the struggle was most certainly worth it!

Mis-shapes, Mistakes, Misfits - when good vintage goes bad.

I picked up this vintage dress a few weeks ago, at the same time I brought this one. I desperately wanted to make it work as a Summer wardrobe staple but no matter what I put with it, nothing seemed to quite look right. I think a huge part of the problem is that my breasts are bring the pockets up too high which then throws off the shape of the rest of the dress. It's a shame as it's a cute print, but I'm not sure if this dress will see anything more exciting than my local supermarket.

You think I would have learnt by now to stop looking up things I love. I need a dinosaur / kitten / robot / teacup / Bowie blocker on every auction site and independent retailer for my own good. My smoking credit card and creaking jewellery storage both hate me, yet I couldn't resist the charms of this delightful camera necklace from Ladybird Loves.

Can we just take a second too appreciate the super cute packaging?

I needed this necklace like I needed paper shoes, but it was brought as a result of a late night editing session. When your eyes have been staring at variants of the same thing for hours upon end, the danger is to break things up with a little online window shopping. A dangerous folly indeed as armed with a cup of tea and a Paypal account, I found myself throwing all my favourite things into the search box of my new found obsession, Not On The High Street. There were so many gorgeous creations dancing before my almost delirious, tired editing eyes, but it was the Ladybird Likes camera necklace which actually made me swoon.

Now that it's arrived, it's already been worn several times so I'm happy that it was an impulse buy which paid off. The range are all wood based and laser cut, and aside from cameras, it contains all manner of robots, pin-ups and other pieces of super cuteness.
