lady v london
You know that feeling when you're SO excited for a dress to arrive? The Gumdrop Gingham Ursula Dress from Lady Voluptuous had me dreaming of cake filled picnics and long sunny evenings and I couldn't wait to pull it on the second it was delivered. I'm a huge fan of the Lady Voluptuous range, but this was my first time with one of their wiggle dresses and well, it was a revelation.
For larger busted ladies, those in the know have been fans of the Lady Voluptuous Lyra dress ever since it burst onto the scenes after a collaboration with George of Fuller Figure Fuller Bust. Made from a lovely stretch jersey with a cross over neck and back tie design, the Lyra was the answer to comfy, smart, vintage style clothing which wasn't uncomfortable or restrictive

Christmas Wrapping
Are you getting as excited for Christmas as I am? There was a time where I really found it difficult to feel the festive love, but being Howard's girlfriend and a member of #teamhylda has forced me to embrace the season of mulled wine and silly jumpers with open arms. We've been getting into the party spirit sincewe put up our tree on the 1st December, but there is one annual Christmas shindig which always really confirms for me that Christmas is almost upon us.
Every year my darling friend Lana Pillay throws a glittering Christmas party, with a beautiful tree, lots of bubbles and fascinating people . Being a showbiz starlet and celebrity make-up artist over at The Empress of Slap, I needed to make sure my outfit was right for the occasion so opted for my Lady V London dress and some slinky shapewear from Simply Be to keep everything in place!
Dress: Lady V London.
Underbust Bodyshaper: Magisculpt Retro Bodyshaper at Simply Be.
Tights: Simply Be.
Coat: Asos Curve.
Roses (in hair): Pearls & Swine.
The soggy weather certainly didn't dampen any Christmas spirits (and goodness knows, plenty of spirits and bubbles were consumed!)
I'd even attempted some tacky festive nails, using two Barry M varnishes (one of their red gellys and their snow like Christmas glitter which I'd previously wrote about here.)
I have one more deadline to hit before I can step up from mulled wine to ALL the gin, rum and Quality Streets and absolutely cannot wait. In the meantime, here's a festive message from the lovely Lana (and if you're in need of some Christmas party make-up tips, check out her YouTube channel here.)
Enjoy all those Christmas parties!
Until next time,
Until next time,

The Hardest Button To Button
Birthday treats from Sugar & Vice and Tatty Devine.
Matt & Nat Dwell Handbag from the ASOS Sale.
Chelsea Boots from Primark.
Weather-proofing hair with a silk scarf and pin-curls.
Max Factor's Whipped Creme Foundation and Lush's Emotional Brilliance Liquid Lipstick.
As much as I love the seasonal transition into Autumn, my skin sadly doesn't agree. All it takes is a few days of biting wind for my face to fall to pieces, but I have finally found a drugstore foundation which moisturises, evens out and makes my skin look and feel fabulous.
The foundation is Max Factor's Whipped Creme, and I've used their palest shade in Light Ivory / 40 with an angled foundation brush. One of the other things which really stuck out was that the foundation didn't leave me with a yellow cast. Most pale drugstore foundations are still too dark on my pink based complexion, and this for me was spot on. It covered any redness, evened out my skin, covered any spots and left me feeling like I wasn't wearing anything other than my usual moisturiser.
Another new purchase was my new red liquid lipstick from Lush's Emotional Brilliance make-up range. I chose Decisive which is a strong cherry red colour with a blue base - perfect for pale skin and vintage lovers. It needs a lip liner underneath or else you'll look like The Joker after one cup of tea, but a liner locks it onto lips like a magnetic force.

Dress by Lady V Vintage, cardigan, belt and leggings by Yours Clothing.
The first of my favourite outfits this month is what I wore to DJ at the last Whiskey Kittens. The photos are pretty terrible and don't do either the dress of flowers justice, but I received so many compliments on both for the whole night, and even the journey to the venue!
Bubble Blower Necklace from Sugar & Vice.
Cardigan and vest from New Look, skirt from ASOS and leggings from leggings by Yours Clothing. I literally wear those boots with EVERYTHING at the moment!
I also feel like I've been really spoilt this month with some wonderful birthday gifts (and self-given-almost-birthday-gifts!)
Cat watch from the ASOS Sale.
Rocket Ship Necklace from Kate Rowland.
Tortoise Necklace from Tatty Devine.
La Luna Necklace from Tatty Devine.
Custom made necklaces from Bette Noire.

Aphrodite's Child Carnival Ruff from Lovechild Boudoir.
