Hey Mickey You're So Fine
These photos were shot right at the start of things falling apart. I remember cutting my fringe too short and too wonky and thinking that there was no way that my hair could look worse than it possibly could in that moment. Four months later, WHO KNEW? I think all of the next few posts are going to need some sort of warning about the state of my hair. But on the plus side, you can see at exactly which point in the pandemic each item was shot, so you can guess what the chances are of things being in stock still! (In this instance, for the most part zero. Sorry pals!)

It can be spooky season all year round if you believe hard enough, and I knew when I saw this dress on the ASOS website, it'd be one of those "everyday but make it witchy" dreams that I'd be able to live in whatever the time of year. Black, soft, drapey and linen were all words I was happy to see, and after retrying three times to get the size correct on my bust (go up by two if you're large busted), I finally had what might be my favourite LBD of all time.

I'm a firm believer that fashion should be fun, and love silly prints and cute accessories. They have the ability to complete transform an outfit which is otherwise quite simple, so whether a silly print or off beat accessory, a small element can completely change the overall feel.
(All of the items in the post are ones which I've purchased myself, but links are AF links where possible.)
Since my friend Kat cut in my fringe about a month or so ago, I've felt so much more like myself again, and have definitely embraced the inner rock and roller who I always wanted to be! This is the first outfit post I've managed to scrape together in FOREVER, partly because I've been slowly rediscovering what my style is again, and partly because I've been buried with shoots and edits. I've got an exhibition opening at the end of May which I'm really excited about, but that along with freelance work is sucking all of my time into a giant black hole. I'm not going to complain though - it's nice to have creative things on the go which are coming together, but I'm hopeful that my blogging schedule will be a bit more regular again soon. I've got a few bits shot and some more which I'm hoping to do this weekend, so if you're still with me and reading this, thank you for sticking around!
I love writing on my blog, but sometimes I'm not the best at staying on top of things. So as a consequence, I have found myself with a lot of outfits which were shot and edited, but never quite made it into their own post. Often it's because seasons changed, other things took over or life just quite frankly got in the way. But there are a few of them, and some of them I really love so I've decided over a few posts to publish them anyway just so they are out there. Where the items are still available, I've added a link.

When planning what to write up for my blog next week, I realised that I had a bit of a problem. I have a folder filled with edited outfit photos ready to be written up, but some of them were old. Really old. Like, back from November old. I had shot a whole load of stuff to go up over the Christmas and New Year period, but then ended up scheduling lots of stuff about SS17 show cases so they got pushed further and further back. And then I shot a whole load of new stuff which was more relevant in terms of the seasonal trends / weather conditions, so they have just sat there, getting pushed further to the bottom of my blog post pile.
