Love Letters - A Valentines, Galentines, I Love Me Times Gift Guide

Whether you're celebrating Valentines, Galentines or just straight up celebrating your fabulous self, February should be the month of treats. In the lead up to Christmas, I have two different styles. It's either a subtle "little bit Christmassy" or "FULL ON DECK THE HALLS OH MY GOD IT'S CHRISTMAAAAAAS". There is absolutely no in-between. This outfit is leaning more towards the first (although don't worry, there's another post this week which is head to toe penguin print!), and is an easy way to take you from day job to festive fun with a few cute accessories.

You can never have too many LBDs hanging in your wardrobe, and even better when they have the perfect level of detail. This simple Lace Up Corset Dress from Simply Be has been a total wardrobe staple ever since it laded through my letterbox, with the adjustable, waist cinching belt giving the simple dress a bit more bite.

I know I blogged this amazing Yoona Balloon Pocket Dress from Navabi ages ago, but it's become such a wardrobe staple during this transitional weather that I thought I'd show it again with how I'm currently styling it.

Blue Hawaii - Pretty Florals from New Look Inspire

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you can probably tell that I'm a bit of a sucker for floral prints and vintage shapes. If it's bright and fun, I'll almost certainly fall in love with it! It helps me to feel that happy, summer feeling, even when the weather is being a bit of a wash out. And with the amount of rain we've had the last few days, clothes which radiate a little summer fun are an absolute must!

When I stumbled across this beauty from New Look Inspire on the ASOS website, my heart skipped a beat. Here was something which looked ultra pretty, but in a light, comfy fabric designed for running around in. The bardot neckline screamed vintage glamour for every day wear, and I was so excited for it to arrive.

The dress is made from jersey with a bardot neckline and skater style flare, and has just a touch of 50s glamour to it which made me feel great. It arrived just as we were having our London mini-heatwave, and in scenes unknown since I've been in my late teens, I left the house wearing it completely bare legged. No leggings, no tights and you know what? The sky didn't fall in. I've always been ultra paranoid about my skin - it's very, very dry no matter what I do to it, but after taking a synthetic hormone for two years, it has over time, began to even itself out. It's by no means perfect, but it felt like a victory leaving the house with nothing but cocoa butter and factor 50 covering my legs and I'm sure the rays of vitman D were helpful.

Of course today I'm shivering in clothes pulled from my Autumn wardrobe, but that's what the British summer is all about!

Bop Goes My Heart.

When I saw this New Look dress on the ASOS website, my heart skipped a beat. Stretch jersey, skater shaped and an adorable print made this the perfect every occasion outfit. It's one of those rare dresses which I can shoot in comfortably and then run off to meet people for a fun filled evening straight after and still feel well dressed.

I teamed it with my new Tatty Devine Mission Control Ring which Howard brought me as part of my Valentines Day gift. I also wore my Bubble Blower Necklace from Sugar & Vice along with some white roses from Pearls & Swine.

The dress had its first outing on a lovely, chilly Saturday where Howard and I wandered through London with no real agenda. We started out in Scooters, one of my favourite cafés in London with its mixture of friendly cats and thick, almost mousse like hot chocolate. We played a few rounds of a cardgame called Coloretto before walking along the river, through to Covent Garden and then to China Town.

I can already tell that this is one of those dresses which I am going to live in come Spring!
