I have never needed any real encouragement to dress up so when I was given an opportunity to choose a fancy dress costume from Joker's Masquerade, I jumped at the chance. With such a large on-line inventory devoted purely to plus size fancy dress, I felt spoilt for choice but eventually decided on the plus size saloon girl outfit as I'm a sucker for anything with a touch of cabaret.
The costume is best suited for anyone between a UK 18 - 22, with elasticated waists and stretchy fabrics making it fit in all the right places across a variety of sizes. It comes in three pieces (a skirt, top and faux-corset which ties at the back) and is finished off with a headband and feather combo. I added some fishnets and a slick of red lipstick but felt like the costume didn't really need anything other than what it came with to be complete.
As someone with a large k-cup bust, I was really worried that the top half would be too tight and was pleasantly surprised to find it had been designed with plenty of room. At no point did I feel restricted or restrained in it, and would definitely feel comfortable wearing it all evening at a party.Already I'm excited for Halloween as this is almost certainly what I'll be DJing in behind the Whiskey Kittens decks.
