A lot of my wardrobe is designed with a more hourglass cut in mind, but recently I've found myself drawn to oversized styles which offer dramatic shapes and a layer ready comfort. With a larger chest getting in the way, I was struggling to find something which didn't look like posh pyjamas on me, so felt like I'd struck gold when I came across this stunning Yoona Balloon Pocket Dress from Navabi.
The dress is a world away from anything I'd normally wear, yet it has easily become one of the go to garments in my wardrobe. Whether warn alone or with a shirt or roll neck underneath it, the simple lines offer a billowing drama whilst still somehow remaining effortlessly elegant. It's slightly oversized with an o-line cut, and deep front pockets waiting to help you shrug your way to grunge queen perfection.
To keep the theme of interesting shapes going, I teamed the dress with a simple black kimono jacket from Elvi. The sleeves hit the elbow but still offer a voluminous silhouette, whilst the contrast sash style belt cinches in the waist. This would look incredible thrown over a pair of skinny jeans, but on this occasion I loved how it helped to create a dramatic shape to the top half in conjunction with the fullness on the bottom.
Stockings: Lace Top Hold Ups from Pamela Mann (£7.99)
I love how both of these items are so versatile in how they can be styled, so I am certain that they will both end up on the blog again under another guise!
Until next time,
