I find that buying a lipstick tends to be an instant mood lifter, and with the new Seventeen Stay Pout range coming in at below £5, I just had to give it a try.
Seventeen is no longer just a purse friendly teen brand - their packaging and pigment heavy offerings put them in the same category as Barry M and Rimmel. but for me it was their stain heavy Stay Pout product which caught my attention and lured me to their cosmetic stand.
I chose a shade called Infrared, a stunning, deep blue red with a touch of gloss. Upon applying it, the first thing I noticed was that it was the exact shade of an old favourite - Mac's Ruby Woo. Whilst Ruby Woo is incredibly matte and many a vintage girl's go-to power pout, I stopped using it as it made my lips crumble underneath and the £15 price tag was to steep for a product which did so much damage.
Without a doubt, Infrared has instantly become it's replacement. Although it has a gloss finish, this pigment heavy wash of colour is just £4.49, and I can buy THREE tubes of it for every one of Mac which makes both me and my bank balance very happy.
Having purchased it on a total whim, I really hadn't expected Stay Pout to have made such a huge impact on me. It feels moisturising on the lips, has a slight stain to it's staying power and when used in conjunction with a lip liner and setting powder, really stays put. With 15 shades in the range, I'm definitely keen to discover a few more items.
Until next time,
Diana xx
