This dress was kindly sent for review, and retails at £39.99. It's available up to a UK 24 and is made from a soft and stretchy cotton fabric. Whilst you'd be forgiven for thinking that a dress which pulls you in this much would be uncomfortable, it's probably one of the comfiest occasion dresses I've ever zipped up. The wide fitted waistband and full circle skirt give this rockabilly style an hourglass shape, whilst the off the shoulder neckline balances out the proportions. The red buttons and red piping on the cuffs finish it off perfectly - all it needed was some red lips, and I was good to go!
Necklace: Heart Bunting from Tatty Devine (no longer available)
Shoes: Red Heels (vintage)
I genuinely felt amazing the second I put this dress on, and spent an age twirling around in front of my mirror with the full circle skirt spinning out. It's perfect for dancing the night away in, and will definitely be a favourite for when I DJ. There's nothing like a good full skirt for shimmying to all those jive and rock and roll classics in!
The Darlene comes in a whole range of colourways, including a super glam hot pink and black as well as lots of polka dot options. My version is the navy blue, with the stunning red being the perfect contrast for it. Now I just need to drag Lord Dicely out for a soda shop date for an excuse to wear it! (And if you want to read my review of the first Dolly and Dotty dress, you can find it here.)
Until next time,
