I think the reality is that I would have swooned over the dress, but then the price would have slapped me in the face and sober me would have sadly stepped away. And when it came, I was very much ready to send it straight back but curiosity got the better of me and I had to try it on first. Big mistake.
This dress pretty much encompasses all of my favourite things. The beautiful berry shade is perfect as we step into Autumn, whilst the Victoriana style is something I adore. It's Wednesday Adamms all grown up, in a dress filled with lace detail, sheer panels and pretty cut outs.
As it gets colder, I'll probably end up teaming this dress with some sort of black cardigan, and love that the skater shape feels comfy, whilst the lace collar and cuffs give it a much fancier feel. If you're inbetween sizes, I'd advise going for the larger one as the fabric doesn't have much in the way of stretch and runs a little tight on the bust. However I felt that the stiffness of the fabric was an advantage to the dress's shape, with the band at the waist really feeling supportive.
